Eight ULC high school students raised $300 each to attend a week long mission trip with Youth Works in Sisseton, South Dakota. The group first flew to Minneapolis, hometown of Director Sherry Woods, for a weekend of fun and activities. The students reported to their work site in South Dakota on Sunday and began work the following day. Working along side 40 other middle school and high school students from Minnesota, they served the elderly, provided outdoor work for those who needed help and led a kids club in a neighborhood park.. A true highlight of the week was a visit from two grandmother elders from the community, one of Cherokee heritage and the other Sioux. The kids were challenged spiritually and truly touched by the Native American community that they served. By the end of the week, they were all grateful for the opportunity to serve God in such a tangible way.
